Chair Cassidy Announces Hearing on Restoring Radical Transparency at CDC, Protecting Children’s Health

WASHINGTON - U.S. Senator Bill Cassidy, M.D. (R-LA), chair of the Senate Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions (HELP) Committee, announced that the HELP Committee will hold a hearing next week on delivering President Trump's mission to restore radical transparency at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). This is crucial to protecting the health of American children.

At the hearing, the HELP Committee will hear from former CDC officials Susan Monarez, PhD, and Debra Houry, M.D., about the recent high-profile departures from the agency. The Committee is also planning to invite current officials at the Department of Health and Human Services to respond by speaking with Committee members at a future hearing.

"Children's health must be the top priority. I thank President Trump and Secretary Kennedy for making radical transparency a priority," said Dr. Cassidy. "To protect children's health, Americans need to know what has happened and is happening at the CDC. They need to be reassured that their child's health is given priority. Radical transparency is the only way to do that."
