LITTLE ROCK - Because bitterly cold temperatures are predicted, the City of Little Rock is mobilizing its temporary, overnight emergency shelter on Sunday, Dec. 14.
The shelter will be open from 6 p.m. Sunday to 9 a.m. Monday at Dunbar Community Center, 1001 W. 16th St.
Little Rock's temporary, cold-weather emergency shelter is available to anyone in need of a safe, warm and dry place to stay overnight. The current National Weather Service forecast calls for a low of 18 degrees Sunday night.
No identification is required at the shelter, and pets are allowed in kennels provided by Little Rock Animal Village.
Throughout the winter, City of Little Rock officials actively monitor weather forecasts to determine whether to mobilize the shelter for additional nights.
