Stage Shift on I-84 Westbound at Exit 45 Off-Ramp in Hartford

The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is announcing that a stage shift will be performed on I-84 westbound at Exit 45 off-ramp in Hartford. This shift is scheduled to occur on Monday, October 5, 2026.

Project 0170-3548 consists of replacing pin and hangers under Bridge 03367 along I-84 Eastbound over Exit 45. A stage shift is required to access the pin and hangers. Staging will be shifted from the right shoulder to the left shoulder of the ramp. Temporary traffic barriers will be relocated, pavement striping will be modified, and construction signs will be reconfigured to reflect the stage shift.

CTDOT Project No. 0170-3548 was awarded to ROTHA Contracting Inc. at a cost of $6,027,924.90 on 11/28/23. This project is administered by the Bureau of Engineering and Construction, Office of Construction, District 1 in Rocky Hill.

LANE CLOSURE/DETOUR INFO

There will be a temporary ramp closure using a rolling roadblock on I-84 westbound at Exit 45 on Monday, October 5, 2026. Traffic control such as state troopers will guide motorists through the work zone.
