Nunn Secures $209 Million Rural Health Investment for Iowa

DES MOINES, IA - Representative Zach Nunn (IA-03) today applauded the award of more than $209 million to Iowa from the Rural Health Transformation (RHT) Program, a $50 billion nationwide initiative to strengthen rural health care created through the Working Families Tax Cuts.

"When we passed the Working Families Tax Cut, I fought to secure $50 billion for rural health care across the country," said Rep. Nunn . "Now, more than $209 million is coming home to Iowa to strengthen care close to home, expand access through telehealth, and help rural clinics recruit and retain the providers Iowa communities rely on."

The announcement follows a letter sent by the Iowa Congressional delegation on November 20, urging the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) to approve funding for Healthy Hometowns-Iowa's rural health initiative designed to expand care access, strengthen emergency response, and retain medical providers across underserved communities.
