NEW VIDEO: Ahead of Paramount Shareholder Vote, Booker Releases Documentary Exposing Consequences of Proposed Paramount–Skydance and Warner Bros. Discovery Merger

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Today, U.S. Senator Cory Booker (D-NJ), Ranking Member of the Senate Judiciary Subcommittee on Antitrust, Competition Policy, and Consumer Rights, released a new documentary-style video exposing the consequences of the proposed merger between Paramount-Skydance and Warner Bros. Discovery. Warner Bros. Discovery shareholders are set to vote on the proposed merger tomorrow, April 23, 2026.

The video features interviews with experts, advocates, and independent journalists, including the host of The Drey Dossier, Audrey Henson; Senior Advisor for Democracy Defenders Action Katie Phang; actor and producer Mark Ruffalo; award-winning director and producer David Borenstein; and civil rights litigator Mara Verheyden-Hilliard. They examine the potential merger's devastating consequences for consumers, Americans' freedom of speech, and access to unbiased information.

The proposed $110 billion deal would place CNN, CBS News, HBO, Paramount Pictures, and one of the world's largest social media platforms, TikTok, under a single corporate structure-owned by one family, accountable to no one, and deeply indebted to the governments and billionaires who made the deal possible. As Senator Booker states in the video, "the losers could be all of America, while the winners are only a small group of people."

"I do not think people fully understand the scale of data consolidation involved in one company and one family controlling these systems," said American journalist Audrey Henson, host of The Drey Dossier. "Ultimately, what you risk is that the content produced and distributed through these media systems begins to reflect the interests of the people who provide the funding, the power, and the ability to control the infrastructure behind it."
