Thirsty for Thought event slated for Feb. 12

Thirsty for Thought (T4T) is back with another episode, this time featuring experts in neuroscience on Thursday, Feb. 12, from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at High and Dry Brewing located at 529 Adams St. N.E. All are welcome (including well-behaved kids/pets), plus non-alcoholic, gluten-free beverage options, and a food truck will be available.

Sponsored by The University of New Mexico's Accelerating Resilience Innovations in Drylands Institute (ARID Institute) and NM Inspires, T4T is a SciComm project with the mission to empower communities through accessible science. Previous events covered art, micro- and nanoplastics, wildfire smoke, and metal contaminants. The general talks are geared toward a lay audience, with time for Q&A with the experts, fun games (trivia, bingo), and networking.

The next T4T episode, tentatively scheduled for April, will challenge participants to disseminate their work in 180 seconds with a Three Minute Thesis (3MT) style talk. All disciplines and career stages are welcomed, plus cash prizes will be awarded. Sign up to participate as a speaker https://forms.gle/hLZ4Gxw1kZncXmxZA.
