Homecoming: Harvestfest, Hugs, and Happy Alumni

Homecoming: Harvestfest, Hugs, and Happy Alumni

By Bowdoin
Generations of alumni met friends on campus for the annual Homecoming weekend, where they were also invited to games, meetings, concerts, museum tours, and talks.

Besides being a chance to reunite with former classmates and enjoy the College's offerings once again, Homecoming gives affinity groups the opportunity to meet in person and plan for the year ahead, and for alumni to engage with students.

A highlight this year was the Homecoming Harvestfest on Dudley Coe Quad, where local craft beer and cider were served, kids played in a bouncy house, and Primo Cubano, a Cuban band, performed.

A few other bright spots:

  • The Peucinian Society celebrated its 220th anniversary with a dinner for returning alumni and current members of the debating society.
  • Soccer and swimming alumni attended the dedication of a newly installed display honoring Charlie Butt, legendary coach, in Farley Field House.
  • The Association of Bowdoin Latinx Alumni, Bowdoin College Black Alumni Association, and RepresentAsian held meetings and came together for a networking lunch with students.
  • A conversation with Dora Rodriguez, author of the new memoir, Dora: A Daughter of Unforgiving Terrain, who spoke about her perilous migration from El Salvador and advocacy for migrant rights.
  • The monthly Birds of America page-turning with guest speaker Dylan Berr '26, a longtime ritual of Special Collections to appreciate John James Audubon's double-elephant folio.
