FDOT Public Meeting Notice: SR 84/Marina Mile Boulevard RRR Project

Project Limits: State Road (SR) 84/Marina Mile Boulevard from East of Canal Drive to SW 26 Terrace

Purpose of the Project: To rehabilitate the asphalt pavement to extend the service life of the existing roadway, including necessary roadside improvements. The nature of this project is asphalt Resurfacing, Restoration, and Rehabilitation (RRR).

Public Meeting:This public meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, October 22, 2025, at 6:00 p.m.

The public meeting will take place at Rodeway Inn & Suites Fort Lauderdale Airport & Cruise Port, located at 2440 West State Road 84, Fort Lauderdale, Florida 33312.

The public meeting will consist of a formal presentation followed by an open discussion. Staff will be available to answer questions and provide assistance. Comments and questions will be answered in the order received. If your question is not answered during the event, a response will be provided in writing following the meeting. Questions and comments may also be submitted prior to the meeting by contacting the Project Manager.

Anticipated Start: Summer 2026

Anticipated Completion: Winter 2027-28

Estimated Construction Cost: $4.1 Million

Scope of Work:

  • Repave the existing roadway to improve the resiliency of our infrastructure.
  • Replace the current median divider and guardrail in the middle of the road with a new concrete traffic barrier to improve safety for motorists.
  • In areas with a 55 miles per hour posted speed limit, install rumble strips along the sides of the road to alert errant drivers that they are about to leave the road.
  • Extend the westbound left-turn lane by approximately 80 feet, located just west of the One Water Yacht Group property.
  • Modify curb ramps to comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) to facilitate improved access for users with disabilities.
  • Replace and upgrade signs and pavement markings to meet current standards and increase reflectivity.
  • Replace the existing signals at SW 26 Terrace with steel mast arm signal structures, improving the resiliency of our infrastructure.

Construction Impacts:

  • Work will be done in phases to reduce the effects of construction on the community.
  • Inside travel lanes will be closed during installation of the median concrete traffic barrier to ensure the safety of workers and motorists for a period of approximately six months.
  • Temporary lane closures for other work will be permitted during off-peak hours during the week.
  • Access to properties will be maintained during construction, and pedestrian traffic will be maintained at all times.
  • Another public meeting (Construction Open House) will be held prior to construction. Detailed information about how to keep informed of potential construction impacts will be provided at this meeting.
