The high-level symposium brought together Chief Executive Officers and Chief Operating Officers of financial institutions for a series of in-depth presentations and discussions under the theme, "Raising the Bar to Move the Needle." The event underscored The Bahamas' ongoing commitment to strengthening compliance, transparency, and global regulatory alignment.

Presentations were delivered by a cross-section of industry experts, including legal professionals, regulators, consultants, and the national CRS Coordinator. Discussions focused on key developments shaping the regulatory landscape, including:

The impact of recent legislative amendments

New and mandatory changes to the AEOI portal, including updated timelines and requirements

Enhanced regulatory oversight to meet Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) compliance standards

Preparing the financial services sector to meet evolving standards, including those related to digital assets

Strengthening understanding of the financial institution population and the imposition of penalties for non-compliance

A high-level overview of The Bahamas' national risk assessment framework

A central feature of the symposium included panel discussions led by regulators, offering insights into CRS Examinations 2026 and outlining expectations for compliance reviews in the coming year.

The symposium provided a collaborative platform for regulators and industry leaders to engage in meaningful dialogue, share perspectives, and reinforce the jurisdiction's commitment to maintaining its reputation as a well-regulated and compliant international financial centre.
