Kia Georgia Invests $100,000 in TCSG Foundation to Support Georgia's Workforce Pipeline

Atlanta, Ga.-Kia Georgia has announced a $100,000 donation to the Technical College System of Georgia (TCSG) Foundation, continuing its strong commitment to workforce development and technical education across the state. The contribution was presented by Kia Georgia President and CEO Stuart Countess during TCSG's annual Georgia Occupational Award of Leadership (GOAL) and Rick Perkins Awards banquet, which recognizes the state's top technical college students and instructors.

"We are proud to continue our partnership with the Technical College System of Georgia and invest in the next generation of Georgia's workforce," said Countess. "Technical education plays a critical role in driving innovation and economic growth, and this investment helps ensure students have the resources they need to succeed."

The donation will help expand access to critical support services for TCSG students, with a portion directed to the TCSG Foundation's Last Mile Fund. This program provides financial assistance to students nearing graduation, helping them overcome unexpected barriers and complete their credentials.

Kia Georgia has been a longstanding partner of TCSG and a champion for technical education. Since 2016, the company has awarded a brand-new Kia vehicle each year to the state's GOAL winner. This year's honoree will receive a new Kia Sportage, built at Kia's advanced manufacturing facility in West Point, Georgia.

"Kia Georgia continues to be an outstanding partner in our work to build a highly skilled, job-ready workforce," said TCSG Commissioner Greg Dozier. "This investment directly supports our students and strengthens the talent pipeline that drives Georgia's economy."

Kia Georgia's impact in the state dates back to its initial $1 billion investment in 2006 to establish its West Point manufacturing facility. Today, the company has invested more than $3.2 billion in the operation, which spans 2,200 acres and has the capacity to produce more than 350,000 vehicles annually. The plant manufactures a range of popular models, including the Telluride, Sorento, and Sportage, as well as the all-electric EV9 and EV6, and remains a major driver of job creation and innovation in Georgia.

Today, more than 159,000 students are enrolled across TCSG's 22 colleges, preparing for high-demand careers that support Georgia's position as the No. 1 state for business and as the Top State for Talent.
