Prime Minister Inga Ruginienė, on behalf of the Government, sincerely congratulated the people of Australia on their National Day and wished the country prosperity.
"Lithuania remains committed to further strengthening its ties with Australia and deepening cooperation with partners across the Indo-Pacific region. We highly value the friendly relations between our countries, as well as the important contribution of the Australian Lithuanian community in fostering people-to-people links and mutual understanding. It is encouraging to see our political dialogue, economic engagement, and societal connections continue to develop.
At a time when the rules-based international order is under pressure and authoritarian influence is growing globally, cooperation among like-minded democracies is more important than ever. Lithuania deeply appreciates Australia's firm and principled support for Ukraine in the face of Russia's aggression, including through close coordination within NATO and allied frameworks. Your commitment contributes not only to Ukraine's ability to defend its sovereignty but also to the security and stability of the wider international community.
I am confident that our shared values and common interests will continue to guide the further strengthening of our bilateral partnership and our cooperation in addressing global challenges," the Prime Minister said in her message of congratulations.
