Vikram Bedekar Named Fellow by The International Academy for Production Engineering

NORTH CANTON, Ohio, Sept. 15, 2025 - The Timken Company (NYSE: TKR; www.timken.com), a global technology leader in engineered bearings and industrial motion, is proud to announce that Dr. Vikram Bedekar, manager of materials development, has been recognized as a fellow of CIRP (Collège International pour la Recherche en Productique - International Academy for Production Engineering). This is one of the most distinguished honors in the field of production engineering, which focuses on designing, developing, implementing and improving processes, systems and equipment for manufacturing quality products efficiently and reliably.

"Vikram's recognition as a CIRP fellow is a testament to his profound impact on manufacturing science and engineering," said Ryan Evans, director of research and development at Timken. "His pioneering work in advanced materials and surface engineering, coupled with his commitment to international collaboration and technical leadership, exemplifies the spirit of innovation that drives our company forward. We're proud to celebrate this well-deserved honor with Vikram."

The CIRP fellow is awarded through a rigorous peer-reviewed process, requiring extensive research accomplishments, international recommendations and the support of two-thirds of existing fellows. With only 160 CIRP fellows worldwide and just 20 in the United States, this recognition is among the highest distinctions in the discipline. Bedekar becomes only the second CIRP fellow from Ohio, underscoring his exceptional achievements in research and innovation.

Bedekar joined Timken in 2005 and currently leads materials development initiatives, specializing in advanced coatings, surface engineering and materials science for industrial applications. He earned his Ph.D. in materials science and industrial engineering from The Ohio State University. He also holds a master's degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Arkansas and a bachelor's degree in metallurgical engineering from COEP Technological University, Pune, India. Bedekar has published extensively, holds multiple patents and has received several awards for his research and contributions to the field of production engineering.

"I'm deeply honored to be named a CIRP fellow and grateful for the continuous support from my colleagues at Timken," Bedekar said. "This recognition is a reflection of our shared commitment to advancing engineering excellence and delivering innovative solutions for our customers."
