CANTON, OH - Today, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and the Akron-Canton Advocacy Alliance hosted U.S. Representative Mike Rulli (R-OH-06) for a roundtable discussion in Canton, Ohio with local business leaders on the pro-growth business tax provisions in President Trump's One Big Beautiful Bill Act, which was signed into law on July 4th. This forward-looking, pro-growth policy is vital to maintaining America's prosperity and competitive edge and will create new opportunities for American workers and businesses to thrive.
We applaud Congressman Rulli for working to ensure that the constituents of the 6th District of Colorado continue to benefit from long-term tax relief, fostering growth for workers and businesses across his district and beyond.
"The U.S. Chamber of Commerce wants to thank Congressman Mike Rulli (OH-06) for his strong support and vote in favor of the Working Families Tax Cuts," said Ryan Gleason, Senior Manager of Government Affairs for the US Chamber of Commerce's Great Lakes Regional Office. "A lifelong Ohioan, small business owner, and former State Senator from the Mahoning Valley, Rep. Rulli understands the importance of advancing pro-growth policies that benefit working families and employers. The bill provides much-needed certainty and relief for families and job creators in the Akron-Canton region. We are also deeply grateful for our close partnership with the Akron-Canton Advocacy Alliance, whose advocacy has been instrumental in securing these important wins for Northeast Ohio."
"I'm truly grateful to the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and the Akron-Canton Advocacy Alliance for the opportunity to participate in today's roundtable and engage in a thoughtful, solutions-focused discussion on the future of our region," said Congressman Rulli. "These conversations are critical. They bring together the voices of job creators, local leaders, and stakeholders who are driving our economy forward every day. Hearing directly from them ensures that we are advancing policies rooted in real-world needs, not Washington assumptions. I appreciate the leadership of both organizations and their continued commitment to strengthening Northeast Ohio's economy, and I will keep fighting for policies that put American workers, families, and businesses first."
"Today's roundtable with Congressman Rulli focused on critically important policies for employers across Stark County and the broader Akron-Canton region," said Jeff Dafler, President and CEO of the Canton Regional Chamber of Commerce. "Through the Akron-Canton Advocacy Alliance, we're able to elevate these conversations at a regional level, ensuring our collective business voice is heard. Provisions included in last year's One Big Beautiful Bill Act, including those related to tax policy, workforce participation and long-term business investment, were part of the discussion and reflect key factors in maintaining our region's competitiveness."
The U.S. Chamber's tax roundtables are a part of its Growing America's Future campaign, an education and advocacy blitz in support of maintaining a pro-growth tax code to foster a robust U.S. economy that benefits all Americans. To date, the Chamber has hosted over 90 tax roundtables, and these events will continue over the coming months in communities across the country.
