This week the EU27 discussed at the EU Council's AGRIFAO Working Party in Brussels, strategic orientations for our further work on food security and sustainable agrifood systems at the Rome-based UN Organisations, notably at FAO.

Ambassador Martin Selmayr attended the AGRIFAO where the CONUN Chair debriefed about the UN80 process launched by Antonio Guterres and discussed the need for a system wide approach to UN reform in which the EU can play a very important role. Together with the EU 27 there was an exchange of views on the need to preserve FAO as an impartial knowledge organisation. Excellent cooperation on all these challenging files with colleagues from Denmark, EEAS, European Commission, INTPA, AGRI, ENV, ECHO, MARE, SANTE.
