China and New Zealand Hold the Fourth Round of Consular Consultations

On April 13, 2026, Director-General of the Department of Consular Affairs of the Foreign Ministry Long Zhou and Divisional Manager of the Consular Division of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade of New Zealand Brad Burgess co-chaired the fourth round of China-New Zealand consular consultations in Beijing. The two sides had an in-depth exchange of views on strengthening consular cooperation, facilitating personnel exchanges, protecting the safety and legitimate rights and interests of citizens, among other issues.

Both sides agreed to actively implement the important common understandings reached by the leaders of the two countries, further enhance communication and mutual understanding, deepen exchanges and cooperation in the consular field, and jointly promote the continued sound and stable development of the China-New Zealand comprehensive strategic partnership.
