ACWA-Sponsored Proposition 218 Rate-Setting Bill Advances to Governor’s Desk
ACWA-sponsored AB 2180 (Ward, D-San Diego) passed the Legislature today and is now on the desk of Gov. Gavin Newsom.
The bill would clarify how water agencies comply with Proposition 218 when setting water rates. This clarification would provide predictability for agencies, support California's water-use conservation goals and help minimize unnecessary legal disputes over water rates.
ACWA staff will continue to advocate on behalf of members and encourage the governor to sign the bill. More information and background on the bill is available in an ACWA fact sheet.
