Republicans Field a Clown Car of MAGA Candidates in Governor Primary

Portland, OR - Today, as the filing deadline for the election season comes to a close, the GOP Governor primary race has ballooned up to 15 candidates from all across the state. With a crowded primary, the Republican candidates find themselves in an ugly, divisive race to the right as they rush to prove their allegiance to Donald Trump.

The GOP primary race is stacked full of MAGA-loving, Trump-aligned candidates, including:

• David Medina, January 6 rioterand three-peat Trumperwith no political experience
• Christine Drazan, loser of the 2022 governor race and vocal Oregon backer of Trump's plans to end vote-by-mail
• Ed Diehl, a pro-ICE, anti-abortionsocial conservative who consistently and regularly defends Trump
• Chris Dudley, loser of the 2010 governor race who fled Oregon for Californiaafter his loss
• Danielle Bethell, facing an ethics investigationfor attempting to use her elected position for personal gain

"Oregonians deserve a governor who will stand up for their values, fight to lower costs, protect essential services, and defend our state from the dangerous and reckless actions taken by President Trump," said Democratic Party of Oregon Chair Nathan Soltz.
