The President and the First Lady attended the celebration of the fourth anniversary of the Ukrainian Center

President Gitanas Nausėda and First Lady Diana Nausėdienė attended the celebration of the fourth anniversary of the Ukrainian Center on Friday.

In his address to the community, the President emphasized that over the past four years, the Ukrainian Center has become a unique space for Ukrainians affected by the war.

"Today, we can confidently say that the Ukrainian Center is one of the most prominent symbols of Lithuania's solidarity with Ukraine and, at the same time, an important platform contributing to the country's European future. It is a place where friendships are forged, hope is strengthened, and a solid foundation is being laid for Ukraine's path to Europe," the President pointed out.

Gitanas Nausėda also noted that, over the past four years, the Ukrainian Center has evolved into a unique platform for international cooperation, bringing together the academic community, non-governmental organizations, diplomats, international partners, and decision-makers. The discussions held here on Ukraine's reconstruction, education, and European integration contribute to building a shared European future.

First Lady Diana Nausėdienė emphasized that the Center's strength lies in its ability to bring together diverse activities and people in pursuit of a common goal. "The Ukrainian Center is helping to shape Ukraine's future. It is a place where communities are strengthened, skills are developed, connections are built, and civil society is mobilized; a civil society that will contribute to Ukraine's reconstruction and securing its place within the family of European nations," the First Lady said.

The President and the First Lady expressed their gratitude to everyone who has contributed to the Center's activities, including volunteers, members of the academic community, diplomats, municipalities, and non-governmental and international organizations.

The Ukrainian Center was established on the initiative of the First Ladies of Lithuania and Ukraine to create an open space for culture, education, and community services for the Ukrainian community in Lithuania. The Center was co-founded by the Office of the President of the Republic of Lithuania, Vytautas Magnus University, and the Ukrainian Embassy in Lithuania.
