UNF students and programs take center stage at this week’s Florida Supply Chain Summit

The University of North Florida served as the presenting education sponsor of the Florida Supply Chain Summit, which is taking place this week in downtown Jacksonville. UNF President Moez Limayem delivered welcome remarks to more than 250 industry leaders who came together to discuss the vital importance of the global supply chain.

The summit fosters statewide collaboration among key representatives from higher education, industry, professional organizations, government and economic development agencies, all working to advance Florida as a global trade hub.

UNF plays a critical role in meeting the workforce needs of supply chain-related companies in Northeast Florida.

"At UNF, we're deeply committed to equipping our students with the education and skills essential to serve our community," said Limayem. "As workforce demands continue to evolve, we're proud to partner with supply chain industry leaders to ensure our graduates are prepared to contribute to the workforce from day one."

Two weeks ago, Paul Eason, UNF VP of Strategy and Innovation, was named chair of the newly created Florida Summit Chain board.

"This platform puts UNF's students and programs center stage for this gathering of statewide leaders," Eason said.

UNF is No. 1 for jobs in Florida, in large part because of strong industry partnerships with leading companies. Nearly 80% of University students stay in the region and 70% in the state after graduation, ensuring UNF is fueling Florida's economy.

UNF's location in Jacksonville, known as America's Logistics Center, offers students hands-on experiences across all five modes of transportation: road, rail, water, air and pipeline. The University's collaborations with industry leaders ensure students graduate with the tools and experiences they need to thrive in competitive careers.

UNF offers robust, interdisciplinary programs across the supply chain ecosystem, including advanced manufacturing, transportation and logistics, healthcare, data science, cyber security and information technology. UNF's Crowley Center for Transportation and Logistics is a key part of that education, with its ground-breaking research, global thought leadership and student scholarships.
