My education and training at Roosevelt has empowered me to serve through music, offering a respite from the weight of everyday life; through education, equipping students with tools to express themselves and communicate effectively; and through advocacy, believing that it is possible to live in a world with less hunger, less war and less inequality, and striving each day so that my words and actions can be a part of this change. I am so honored to receive this award and to continue working every day to uphold Lincoln's legacy."
