JBT Marel Introduces the upgraded ModularOven (MOS)

Building on the proven performance of the ModularOven platform, JBT Marel has introduced the upgraded MOS, featuring a range of enhancements focused on reliability, product consistency, serviceability, and operator safety.

Designed for processors seeking maximum uptime and consistent product quality, the latest generation ModularOven incorporates multiple engineering improvements throughout the system, helping customers reduce downtime, simplify maintenance, and gain even greater control over their cooking process.

Enhanced dew point sensor protection

A newly integrated blower protects the dew point sensor during cleaning operations, preventing cleaning agents from damaging the sensor.

This improvement significantly extends sensor lifetime, reduces the need for replacement parts, and minimizes unplanned downtime. By protecting a key component, responsible for climate monitoring, processors can maintain stable operation while lowering maintenance costs over the lifespan of the machine.

More accurate climate control

The MOS now includes digital temperature sensors that provide higher measurement accuracy throughout the oven.

Improved temperature monitoring translates directly into an even more accurate micro-climate control at product level, helping ensure consistent heating and repeatable cooking results across batches. Hereby improving what was already best in the market. For processors this means greater process control and improved product consistency.

Faster remote diagnostics through increased connectivity

To support modern service and troubleshooting capabilities, the upgraded oven incorporates additional digitally connected components.

These enhancements enable faster remote problem identification, allowing service teams to diagnose issues more efficiently and support customers without unnecessary delays. As a result, processors can benefit from shorter troubleshooting times and improved equipment availability.

Combined with our AXIN machine solutions and a PRoCARE service agreement, these digital capabilities help maximize uptime, optimize performance, and ensure reliable production continuity.

Improved PLC functionality simplifies operation

The new MOS introduces several PLC software improvements designed to make daily operation and maintenance easier.

Enhanced functionality streamlines diagnostics while simplifying wiring and service activities. These upgrades help maintenance personnel quickly identify issues, reducing complexity and supporting faster intervention when needed.

Increased personnel safety during maintenance

Operator safety remains a key focus in the latest design update.

A new handheld belt-run-enable safety switch has been added specifically for maintenance activities, providing an additional layer of protection for personnel working on the machine. This improvement helps create a safer maintenance environment while supporting efficient service procedures.

More robust components for higher reliability

Several hardware upgrades have been introduced to improve overall machine robustness.

Among these changes is a new exhaust pressure sensor with increased durability, helping the system withstand demanding operating conditions while maintaining reliable performance over time.

Extended pump life through early filter blockage detection

An integrated water pressure sensor has been added to monitor filter conditions more effectively.

By detecting filter blockages at an earlier stage, the system helps prevent the pump from running dry, one of the primary causes of premature pump wear. This proactive monitoring approach extends pump lifespan, reduces maintenance requirements, and contributes to higher overall equipment reliability.

Increased ethernet redundancy reduces downtime

The MOS also benefits from an updated ethernet architecture featuring greater redundancy.

This enhancement improves network reliability, makes issue identification easier, and helps keep the oven operational even 'when communication issues occur. The result is reduced downtime and increased confidence in day-to-day production.

Built for the next generation of food processing

In addition to the continued commitment to helping food processors maximize performance, product quality, and operational reliability, the latest MOS demonstrates that JBT Marel remains fully committed to staying the market leader. By combining improved climate control, smarter diagnostics, enhanced safety features, and greater reliability, the upgraded ModularOven is engineered to deliver consistent results while making operation and maintenance easier than ever before.

As processors continue to demand higher efficiency and greater process control, the MOS provides a future-ready solution designed to meet today's production challenges and tomorrow's opportunities.
