US 175 Widening Project

• This week: Crews are scheduled to complete final cleanup work.
• About the project: Includes expanding the roadway to four lanes with new bridges across the Neches River.
• Limits: From 0.4 miles SE of SH 155, SE to Cuney

• Cost: $55.5 million

FM 1990; FM 861; FM 19 - Safety Improvement Project

• This week: The contractor is scheduled to continue widening structures and clearing the areas near the bridge structures on FM 861 and FM 19. The contractor is also scheduled to install mow strips.
• About the project: Consists of improving drainage, driveways, culverts, and upgrading the guardrail for safety.
• Limits: FM 1990 - 0.1 mile north of Gum Creek to CR 2137; FM 861 - Box culvert to CR 100; FM 19 - SH 155 to 0.125 miles south of Caddo Creek

Cherokee County

Cherokee County construction projects updates:

US 175 Widening Project

• This week: The CR 3328, 3406, 3407, and 3416 intersections will be closed throughout the project. Motorists will need to use the posted detour routes. The contractor is scheduled to continue work on bridges and structure widening. Crews will also continue paving the new roadbeds between Cuney and Jacksonville in preparation for traffic switches. The speed limit has been reduced to 55 mph throughout the project limits.
• About the project: This project consists of expansion to a four-lane roadway with new bridges, asphalt, drainage structures, pavement markings, and signage. (This project is in Cherokee County but is managed by the Athens Area Office.)
• Limits: From 0.5 miles E of the Anderson County line (CR 3509) to FM 347 in Jacksonville
• Contractor: A.L. Helmcamp, INC.
• Cost: $168 million
• Anticipated Completion Date: Fall 2028

FM 855 Improvements

• This week: The contractor is scheduled to install new drainage pipes under the road and driveway work. Drivers should slow down and watch for workers and equipment in the construction area. Lane closures are expected.
• About the project: This project will improve drainage and includes new pipes, driveway work, mailbox turnouts, road signs, and guardrail.
• Limits: From US 175 to US 69
• Contractor: 3LW Civil LLC
• Cost: $4.1 million

SH 204 - US 84/Nacogdoches County

• This week: Crews will continue preparing the area along the road and begin extending drainage pipes under the roadway. Drivers should slow down and watch for workers and equipment in the construction zone. Lane closures are expected.
• About the project: This project will add a super-two highway, which includes passing lanes to improve traffic flow and safety.
• Limits: From US 84 to the Nacogdoches County line

SH 204 - SH 110 to Rusk County line

• This week: The contractor is scheduled to continue project closeout. Motorists should drive with caution within the construction zone. Lane closures are anticipated.
• About the project: This project consists of adding a super-two highway section.
• Limits: From SH 110 to the Rusk County line

US 69 and FM 2493 Overpass and Realignment

• This week: Crews are scheduled to perform base work on FM 2493 near Bullard High School. Motorists should expect short-term lane closures. Work could also take place on Sydney Drive. Motorists could experience occasional lane closures as construction activities progress and should remain alert for changing traffic patterns and posted signage throughout the work zone.
• About the project: The project includes building an overpass with entrance and exit ramps, and realigning FM 2493 west of US 69. Work includes building bridges, paving the roadway, installing pavement markings, and placing road signs.
• Limits: US 69 - From 0.5 mi N of FM 2493 W to 0.5 mi south of FM 2493 E; FM 2493 - From 0.3 mi south of FM 344 to US 69 near Bullard

Gregg County

Crews are scheduled to perform work on FM 2275 from US 271 to FM 3272 in both directions. Motorists should expect lane closures with flaggers controlling traffic. Crews are also scheduled to work on FM 2767 from SH 31 to the Smith County line. Work will be in the east and westbound lanes. If work is completed, crews will move to SH 135 from Rabbit Creek to the north I-20 ramps.

Gregg County construction projects updates:

FM 2275 - George Richey Rd.

• This week: Crews are scheduled to install concrete barriers, excavating roadway to new grade, and building the new bridge.
• About the project: This project consists of widening from two lanes to four. This will include a new bridge, pavement, guardrail, and striping.
• Limits: FM 3272 (White Oak Rd) to FM 1845 (Pine Tree Rd)
• Contractor: Longview Bridge and Road
• Cost: $22.8 million
• Anticipated Completion Date: May 2027

I-20 at the Sabine River Bridge

• This week: Crews are scheduled to begin drilling the deep foundation shafts that will support the new bridge.
• About the project: The project consists of removing the existing bridge and replacing it with a new bridge. It will also consist of new pavement, guardrail, signage, and striping. Two lanes of traffic will be maintained in each direction for the majority of the project.
• Limits: 0.9 miles west of the Sabine River to 0.8 miles east of the Sabine River
• Contractor: Longview Bridge and Road
• Cost: $36.9 million
• Anticipated Completion Date: August 2028

I-20 Resurfacing

• This week: The contractor is scheduled to stripe and begin project closeout. Motorists should expect lane closures during overnight hours.
• About the project: The project consists of removing asphalt off the surface and placing new hot mix asphalt from the Sabine River bridge to the Harrison County line. Work will be done in both the east and westbound lanes.
• Limits: Sabine River bridge to the Harrison County line

FM 2204

• This week: Crews are scheduled to continue work on FM 2204.
• About the project: The project consists of clearing the right of way, hot mix operations, base failure repairs, striping, and signage. Motorists should expect lane closures while work is in progress.
• Limits: US 259 Bypass to FM 2011
• Contractor: Madden Construction
• Cost: $3.5 million
• Anticipated Completion Date: August 2026

I-20/SH 31 Interchange

• This week: Crews will continue work in the project limits.
• About the project: This project consists of clearing the right of way, removing the left exits from I-20 and replacing with right exits with a direct connector over I-20. This will go northbound and southbound on SH 31. New bridges will also be built over SH 31 and the UP Railroad on I-20. Two lanes will remain open throughout the project limits on I-20 and SH 31. The contractor will have occasional nighttime lane closures to perform work. This project also includes new hot mix application, new guardrail, concrete traffic barrier, signage, and pavement markings.

Spur 63 (McCann Rd)

• This week: Crews will continue work during nighttime hours.
• About the project: This project consists of removing the existing surface and replacing it with new hot mix. The project also includes base repair, manhole adjustments, permanent striping, and sign replacement. Work will be done at night. Motorists should expect delays and alternating lane closures.
• Limits: US 80 to Loop 281
• Contractor: Madden Construction
• Cost: $3.17 million

SL 485 Widening

• This week: Crews are scheduled to construct temporary pavement. Motorists should expect lane closures and speed zone reductions. Delays are expected.
• About the project: This project includes leveling and rebuilding the roadbed, repaving the surface, improving drainage, replacing bridges and culverts, and adding new signs and traffic signals. (This project is in Gregg County but is managed by the Mineola Area Office.
• Limits: US 271 to US 80, east of Gladewater

• About the project: Includes constructing sidewalk on both sides of BUS 19. Motorists should expect lane closures while work is in progress.

SH 19 Super 2 Project

• This week: The contractor is scheduled to begin laying hot mix for driveways. Motorists should expect lane closures. The contractor is also installing mailboxes. The speed limit is reduced to 60 mph throughout the project limits.
• About the project: This project includes adding a passing lane in both directions at multiple locations. It also includes grading, drainage structures, pavement markings, and signage.
• Limits: From 0.3 miles south of FM 1861 (Van Zandt C/L) south to 0.1 Mi. north of SL 7 in Athens (Watson)

• This week: The contractor is scheduled to backfill the new embankment for the new turn lanes. Crews are also scheduled to lay new asphalt.
• About the project: Consists of removing existing crossovers and adding left turn lanes to the remaining crossovers.
• Limits: US 259 Bypass south to FM 850

SH 315

• This week: The contractor is scheduled to work on project closeout.
• About the project: This project consists of widening pavement edges and installing a separation between opposing traffic lanes to improve safety. A new passing lane will also be added in both directions.

SH 64 - Left turn lane

• This week: No update this week.
• About the project: This project consists of building a two-way left turn lane, clearing right of way, new hot mix, striping, and construction of a new bridge. Motorists should expect delays throughout the project limits and alternating lane closures.

• About the project: This project consists of beautification work along US 69 in Bullard.

FM 2493 Widen Non-Freeway

• This week: The contractor is scheduled to continue drainage work at Rather St. and Sawyer St. Crews are also scheduled to continue detour work on Kimberly Dr. Pending weather, crews could begin seal coat operations. Crews are also scheduled to perform curb and gutter work south of CR 177 and base stabilization near Rather St. Motorists should drive with caution.

• Limits: FM 346 in Flint, south to 0.3 miles south of FM 344

District Bridge Rehabilitation

• This week: The contractor is scheduled to continue project closeout.
• About the project: This project includes cleaning and resealing the bridge's expansion joints, grinding off the old surface and resurfacing the bridge deck, replacing the guardrail, and repairing steel and concrete components.
• Limits: Various locations in the Tyler District

I-20 Bridge Maintenance

• This week: Motorists should continue to expect nightly lane closures on east and westbound I-20 at CR 424.

I-20 Bridge Rehabilitation

• This week: Motorists should expect nightly lane closures on SH 64 at I-20 as crews work in the area. Also, nightly lane closures are scheduled for FM 733 at I-20 as crews repair the guardrail. Crews will also be working on the underpass at FM 773 and I-20.
• About the project: Rehabilitation work on various bridges throughout the county.

SH 155 Traffic Signal Improvements

New Copeland Rd. Pedestrian Improvements

FM 756 Resurfacing

FM 16 Widening and Realignment

• This week: Traffic is now moved to the newly constructed north side of FM 16. Crews will continue work on the bridges along old FM 16 alignment. Construction west of Toll 49 is ongoing.
• About the project: The project consists of grading, asphalt base, asphalt surface overlay paving, storm drain, bridge, and culvert structures, signing, pavement markings, and signals. A traffic shift is currently in place through town. Traffic will be in two lanes during this phase of construction. (This project is in Smith County but is managed by the Mineola Area Office.)
• Limits: Four miles west of FM 849 east to US 69 in Lindale

• This week: Right of way prep and stump removal are ongoing. Roadway rehabilitation operations are ongoing. Crews will also continue milling the existing roadway. Lane closures and speed zone reductions are expected. Motorists should expect delays while work is in progress.
• About the project: This project will rehabilitate the existing road by widening it, rebuilding and strengthening the roadbed, repaving intersections and driveways, extending drainage structures under the road, and adding new signs and pavement markings.
• Limits: I-20 to SH 110

• Limits: 4 miles west of FM 17 in Canton, east to 1.1 mile east of FM 16

• Limits: 0.24 miles east of FM 314 to SH 64

• This week: Crews are scheduled to continue work on the new bridge. Traffic has shifted onto temporary pavement south of existing US 69.
• About the project: This project includes grading, base and asphalt work, drainage, new overpass, curb and gutter, and new signs and striping.
• Limits: From 0.96 miles north of FM 779 to 1.03 miles south of FM 779
