ATLANTA - State Representative Teddy Reese (D-Columbus) was recently selected to serve as the 2025 homecoming convocation speaker for Albany State University (ASU). The convocation will take place on Friday, October 17, 2025, at 10 a.m. in the Jones Brothers HPER Complex on East Campus.
"As a 2003 graduate of Albany State University, I am honored and thrilled to serve as this year's keynote speaker for the 2025 homecoming convocation," said Rep. Reese. "ASU equipped me with a strong educational foundation and community which helped me succeed in my career and inspired me to serve my community as a state representative. I am excited to honor ASU students, alumni and staff for their many accomplishments and contributions to Albany and the surrounding areas and to celebrate this great event."
Homecoming 2025 will be a week-long celebration of students, alumni and the community. This year's homecoming theme, "Reigniting the Flame," seeks to celebrate the passion, pride and resilience that define the Golden Ram spirit. The theme was chosen to reflect ASU's commitment to strengthening traditions, rekindling connections among alumni and students from both Albany State University and Darton State College, as well as inspiring renewed energy for the university's future under the leadership of President Dr. Robert Scott.
Representative Tremaine Teddy Reese represents the citizens of District 140, which includes a portion of Muscogee County. He first was elected to the House of Representatives in 2022 and currently serves on the Agriculture & Consumer Affairs, Economic Development & Tourism and Public and Community Health committees. He also serves on the Special Committee on Resource Management.
