Tracy George, MD, ARUP chief scientific officer and Innovation Business Unit president, has been appointed to the BioUtah Board of Directors, ARUP Laboratories announced today. As a director, she will play a key role in guiding the strategic direction and growth of the organization.

BioUtah is Utah's premier trade association serving the state's life sciences community. Its board is made up of leaders representing medical device manufacturing, biotechnology, diagnostics, and research, all working to advance healthcare innovation and strengthen Utah's life sciences ecosystem.

"I am honored to join BioUtah's board and collaborate with leaders who share a commitment to advancing life sciences in Utah and beyond," George said. "Together, we can drive innovation that improves patient care and strengthens our state's role as a hub for healthcare excellence."

A hematopathologist who is certified by the American Board of Pathology in clinical and anatomic pathology and hematology, George brings exceptional expertise to BioUtah's board. Additionally, she played a pivotal role in securing $3 million in federal funding for the Advanced Practice Clinical Laboratory Training Center, a first-of-its-kind collaboration between ARUP and the University of Utah's Division of Medical Laboratory Sciences. Located at ARUP, the center expands educational opportunities for students and is poised for replication nationwide to address a critical need for highly trained laboratory professionals.

BioUtah's board members are nominated by its general membership and selected by the board. George's term begins immediately.
