FRANKFORT, Ky. (March 12, 2026) - Today, Gov. Andy Beshear announced exciting new momentum within the state's manufacturing sector, as #TagSwag, a branded merchandise and apparel production company, celebrated the grand opening of its relocation to a new production and fulfillment facility on the University of Louisville campus. The project significantly increases the company's ability to manufacture, decorate and distribute branded merchandise for organizations across the commonwealth and the United States.
"The commonwealth's business-friendly environment not only attracts quality out-of-state companies, it helps established companies to keep growing in the communities they have served for years," said Gov. Beshear. "This project marks an exciting next step for #TagSwag, which celebrated its 40th anniversary of operating in Louisville just last year. Companies that believe in the people and resources of this great state are the backbone of our surging economy. I want to thank #TagSwag and its leadership for their commitment to Kentucky and Louisville and I am looking forward to 40 more years of their success."
The new facility, named the #TagSwag Factory, consolidates and expands the company's production operations into a single, modern 80,000-square-foot manufacturing space designed to support both traditional bulk production and on-demand e-commerce fulfillment. The expanded operation allows the company to produce custom apparel and promotional products at higher volumes while maintaining local manufacturing jobs in Louisville. The facility also serves as a hub for the company's growing web store and fulfillment platform, which allows organizations to distribute branded merchandise through custom online stores supported by on-demand production and shipping.
"This new facility represents the next chapter for our company and our family," said David Horne, president of #TagSwag. "For 40 years we have believed that great businesses can be built by investing in people, manufacturing locally and serving customers with creativity and care. Expanding our operations in Louisville allows us to continue creating jobs, supporting our community and producing high-quality branded merchandise right here in Kentucky."
The expanded operation will also allow #TagSwag to host customers, partners and community organizations for tours and live demonstrations of modern branded merchandise production, showcasing how apparel and promotional products are designed, decorated and fulfilled at scale. Today, #TagSwag works with hundreds of organizations across the region and nationally, helping companies build stronger culture and brand identity through custom merchandise programs, online company stores and large-scale branded product initiatives.
Founded in Louisville in 1985 by John Horne as Stitch Designers, the company has grown over four decades into a full-service branded merchandise partner serving businesses, universities, sports organizations, health-care systems and nonprofits. Now operating under the brand #TagSwag, the company provides in-house screen printing, embroidery, digital print-on-demand apparel production, laser engraving and large-scale merchandise fulfillment.
"Louisville is proving every day that it's a place where businesses can start, create jobs, grow and compete with anyone on a national stage," Louisville Mayor Craig Greenberg said. "#TagSwag's new headquarters represents a significant investment in our workforce, our local manufacturing economy and the diverse communities that make our city strong."
#TagSwag's investment and job creation furthers what has been the best six-year period for economic growth in state history.
Since the beginning of his administration, Gov. Beshear has announced more than 1,300 private-sector new-location and expansion projects totaling over $45 billion in announced investments, creating more than 68,000 jobs. This is the highest investment figure secured during the tenure of any governor in the commonwealth's history and $24 billion more than the next highest total.
Gov. Beshear has announced some of the largest economic development projects in state history, which have solidified Kentucky as the battery capital of the United States: AESC's $2 billion, 2,000-job gigafactory project in Warren County; Ford Motor Co.'s $2 billion, 2,200-job commitment in Louisville, as well as its $2 billion, 2,100-job project at the Kentucky 1 plant in Hardin County; Shelbyville Battery Manufacturing's $712 million investment, creating 1,572 jobs in Shelby County; and Toyota's $1.3 billion investment in Scott County, among others.
The Governor's administration also secured the largest General Fund budget surplus and Rainy Day Fund. In 2023, Kentucky recorded over 2 million jobs filled for the first time ever and has stayed above that number ever since.
Kentucky also secured rating increases from major credit rating agencies Fitch Ratings, S&P Global Ratings and Moody's Investors Service.
This year, Site Selection magazine ranked Kentucky in the top five nationally and second in the South Central region for economic development projects per capita in its 2025 Governor's Cup rankings. Last year, Site Selection also placed Kentucky second in the South Central region and No. 6 nationally in its 2025 Prosperity Cup ranking, which recognizes state-level economic development agencies for their success in landing capital investment projects.
Gov. Beshear also announced a new initiative, called New Kentucky Home, to increase economic investment, attain and attract talent, and increase tourism across the state.
