Buffalo Man Pleads Guilty for Fatal Shooting in City's LaSalle Neighborhood

Erie County District Attorney Michael J. Keane announces that Jeremiah Henderson, 25, of Buffalo, pleaded guilty this morning before Erie County Court Judge Kenneth Case to one count of Murder in the Second Degree (Class A-I felony). Henderson entered a guilty to plea to the highest count in full satisfaction of the indictment.

On Monday, June 16, 2025, at approximately 8:30 p.m., the defendant intentionally shot the victim during a dispute in the backyard of a residence on 200 block of Shirley Avenue in the City of Buffalo. The victim, 33-year-old Fred Finch, III, was pronounced dead at the scene. Approximately 90 minutes later, police located and detained the defendant on LaSalle Avenue where he was found in possession of an illegal handgun. Forensic analysis determined that the recovered firearm was used to commit the homicide.

Henderson faces a maximum of 25 years to life in prison when he is sentenced on Tuesday, September 1, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. He remains held without bail.

DA Keane commends Officer Michael Kiripolsky, Officer Nicyle Holman, Officer Aaron Gervase and Officer Jacob Victor of the Buffalo Police Department for their work in this investigation.

The case was prosecuted by Chief James W. Mansour, II, of the Narcotics/Intelligence Bureau and Assistant District Attorney Justin T. Wallens of the Homicide Bureau.
