The World Food Prize Foundation has welcomed three new interns for the spring semester. Each academic term, the Foundation selects a cohort of high-achieving students for its Internship Program, designed to cultivate emerging leaders across communications, research, event production and archival management while providing hands-on experience across the organization's core functions.
"We are dedicated to fostering an environment where interns feel supported, challenged and inspired to advance their professional development," said Mashal Husain, President, World Food Prize Foundation. "This internship offers meaningful insight into the Foundation's mission and strategic objectives, while providing students with hands-on experience in dynamic career fields. By working alongside our team, interns gain practical skills, expand their networks and develop a deeper understanding of the global issues that drive our work."
Throughout the semester, interns will contribute to projects supporting the Foundation's work in global food security while building professional experience in their respective fields.
"This internship gives me the opportunity to explore food security, agribusiness and international development in a way that broadens my perspective," said Reid Stevens, global programs and strategic engagement intern. "I'm excited to engage with these issues through an organization that has both global impact and strong local connections."
The internship program also introduces students to the broader agricultural and humanitarian challenges the Foundation seeks to address.
"What makes this internship unique is the global impact behind the work," said Isabella Martens, communications and public relations intern. "I'm gaining valuable communications experience while learning more about agriculture and the fight against hunger."
Students also gain exposure to the historical and institutional legacy of the organization through work with the Foundation's archives.
"Working with the archives offers a direct connection to history," said Mel Munoz, archival intern. "It's an exciting opportunity to learn how to properly preserve and care for important materials. Being able to help protect these records means future generations will be able to learn from them."
