The United States' Secretary of the Army Daniel P. Driscoll paid a working visit to Finland on 18-19 June 2026. Secretary Driscoll and Finnish Minister of Defence Antti Häkkänen met in Mikkeli on Friday 19 June.
Secretary Driscoll and Finnish Minister of Defence Antti Häkkänen met in Mikkeli on Friday 19 June. The Secretary and Minister discussed bilateral defence cooperation, current topics in NATO, the security situation in Finland's neighbouring areas and participation in training and exercises.
"We have been actively working to deepen defence cooperation between Finland and the United States. One example of this is the Defence Cooperation Agreement (DCA), which reflects the United States' commitment to Finland's security and lays the foundation for cooperation in times of crisis," Minister of Defence Häkkänen said.
During the working visit, Secretary Driscoll met with the Command of the Finnish Defence Forces and became acquainted with Finland's defence industry. Finland's Ministry of Defence hosted the visit.
Secretary of the Army Driscoll also met with President of the Republic during his visit.
