"We Are Reaffirming America's Unwavering Commitment to the Men and Women Who Defend Our Freedom."
WASHINGTON - Today, Congressman Vern Buchanan, Vice Chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee, announced that four of his legislative proposals were signed into law by President Donald Trump as part of this year's National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA).
"I'm proud to see these critical initiatives signed into law to address some of the most pressing challenges facing our military," said Buchanan. "Each of my proposals strengthen readiness, protect our national security, and ensure our servicemembers have the tools and support they need to succeed. By advancing President Trump's 'Peace Through Strength' agenda, we are reaffirming America's unwavering commitment to the men and women who defend our freedom."
With this signing, 52 Buchanan legislative initiatives have been enacted into law since he first came to Congress in 2007.
The four Buchanan proposals in the House-passed FY26 NDAA include:
Buchanan has had four initiatives signed by President Bush, six by President Obama, 19 by President Biden and 23 by President Trump.
In January 2025, Buchanan had his Honoring Our Heroes with Dignity Act (H.R. 10301) and seven other defense legislative proposals signed into law. These proposals, which enhanced military readiness and expanded health care options for servicemembers, were included in the final version of the FY25 NDAA.
