National Bank of Georgia Presents Agricultural Sector Study
The National Bank of Georgia has presented its study of the agricultural sector. The presentation was attended by representatives of the financial and business sectors.
The study provides an overview of Georgia's agricultural market, an analysis of the sector's credit portfolio, and an assessment of borrowers' solvency. Its objective is to evaluate the business environment and financial indicators of the agricultural sector in Georgia.
The document discusses current trends in both Georgia and globally. It also presents the financial ratios of companies operating in the sector, along with the characteristics of the credit portfolio including distribution by currency, segment, and credit risk level. The study's findings reflect important insights for assessing the sector's stability and highlight risks and opportunities relevant to both financial institutions and policymakers.
According to the study, Georgia's agricultural sector is characterized by stable credit growth, a high level of lari-denominated lending, and low concentration, all of which strengthen the sector's financial resilience. The solvency analysis of borrowers further confirms the sector's sustainability and growth potential, supporting the stable development of the country's economy.
The meeting continued in a Q&A format. Stakeholders discussed the study's findings, as well as the sector's needs and existing challenges.
It should be noted that the National Bank of Georgia has already published studies on the alcoholic beverages, construction materials, energy, real estate development, tourism, and hospitality sectors. The National Bank of Georgia will continue to conduct and share sectoral research with the public.
