Worcester to Open Aquatics Program Tuesday, June 30

WORCESTER, Mass. - The City of Worcester announced Thursday the launch of its 2026 Aquatic Program. For the third consecutive year, the municipality is partnering with the YMCA of Central Massachusetts to staff facilities.

Starting Tuesday, June 30, Crompton Park Pool, Bell Pond Beach, Coes Pond Beach, Indian Lake Beach, Shore Park Beach, and all spray parks will be fully staffed. All facilities will be open seven days a week, 12 p.m. (noon) to 7 p.m. with the following schedule:

Tuesday, June 30 to Saturday, Aug. 22

  • Crompton Park Pool
  • Bell Pond Beach
  • Coes Pond Beach
  • Indian Lake Beach
  • Shore Park Beach

Tuesday, June 30 to Monday, Sept. 7

  • East Spray Park
  • Greenwood Spray Park
  • University Spray Park
  • Tacoma Street Spray Park

As part of the summer of 2026 Aquatic Program, the YMCA of Central Massachusetts will offer free swimming lessons at Crompton Park Pool, Coes Pond Beach, Bell Pond Beach, and Shore Park Beach. They will also manage and supervise the Department of Parks, Recreation & Cemetery free kayaking and paddleboard rental program at Coes Pond Beach, which has been in operation (weekends only) since Memorial Day and will begin operations seven days a week on Tuesday, June 30 through Saturday Aug. 22.
