REP. HOYLE'S STATEMENT ON PORTLAND SHOOTING

WASHINGTON, DC - Today, Congresswoman Val Hoyle (OR-04) releasing the following statement on the shooting of two individuals by immigration enforcement officials in Portland:

"Two people were shot today by DHS. Part of me feels angry. Part of me feels exhausted. And part of me feels helpless. But I do know this: we can't give up. We have to urgently investigate the facts and make our voices heard peacefully," said Rep. Hoyle. "We cannot allow these acts of violence to be normalized. Over the past year, the actions of Trump's federal immigration forces and propaganda machine have shown us that they are doing nothing to make our neighborhoods safer, only inciting violence and ripping families apart. We need deescalation and ICE out of Portland now."
