One male in custody following serious assault: C26-13665

On January 17, 2026, just after 4:00 p.m., East District General Patrol officers responded to an apartment complex, located in the 1-99 block of Stadacona Street for the report of a stabbing.

Upon arrival, officers located a 27-year-old man who was suffering from multiple serious injuries. The victim was transported to the hospital by ambulance in stable condition.

Officers determined through investigation that two men were in a suite together when without provocation, the suspect assaulted the victim numerous times by punching him in the upper body. The assault escalated when the suspect grabbed a knife and slashed the victim before fleeing the scene. Police were contacted and entered into an investigation.

The Major Crimes Unit assumed the investigation.

Just after 5:34 p.m., the suspect was located and arrested outside in the 100 block of Henry Avenue.

Gabriel Joseph Andrew LINKLATER, (25) has been charged with Aggravated Assault and detained in custody.
