Remediation Operations Begin at Riverwood Site Today

DALLAS - Following a comprehensive site inspection, the City of Dallas has determined that current weather and river conditions are favorable to begin operations at the Riverwood area. Remediation is underway as of today and will take approximately two weeks to complete. Heavy equipment began mobilizing in the morning, and active river cleanup operations are underway.

To ensure seamless operations, Dallas Water Utilities is actively coordinating logistics and resources with multiple city departments, including Dallas Fire-Rescue, the City Marshal's Office, Code Compliance, and Sanitation Services. Staff will continue to closely monitor site and weather conditions over the weekend and will provide updates should circumstances change.

The Riverwood cleanup area is now an active construction zone. For public safety and the efficiency of the operations, there is strict, absolute zero access to the cleanup site for unauthorized personnel. Community members are urged to avoid the area entirely.
