PANGKALPINANG -- PT TIMAH (Persero) Tbk, in collaboration with the Tax Service Office (KPP) Pratama Pangkalpinang, held a socialization session on the filing of Individual Annual Tax Returns (SPT) through the Coretax application for employees. The event was conducted in a hybrid format from the Main Meeting Room of PT TIMAH on Tuesday (10/3/2026).

The education on Annual Tax Return filing through the Coretax application represents a form of synergy between the business sector and tax authorities in supporting state revenue while increasing employees' understanding of their tax obligations.

Tax Counselor of KPP Pratama Pangkalpinang, Ferry, said the activity was carried out in response to a request from PT TIMAH to provide a speaker who could deliver an explanation to employees regarding the reporting of Annual Tax Returns through the Coretax application.

He mentioned that similar socialization activities have also been conducted in various institutions and universities to make it easier for taxpayers to fulfill their tax obligations.

Ferry explained that Coretax is the latest web-based tax administration system that has been effectively implemented since January 1, 2025. Coretax is part of the Directorate General of Taxes' (DJP) modernization efforts to provide easier services for taxpayers.

"Coretax is designed so that taxpayers can access various tax services more easily without having to visit the tax office. This system is borderless, meaning it can be accessed from anywhere," Ferry explained.

He added that through Coretax, various tax services can be carried out on a single platform, ranging from the creation of a Taxpayer Identification Number (NPWP) to the reporting of Annual Tax Returns. Coretax also integrates various tax applications that previously operated separately into one unified system.

"In addition, the use of the National Identity Number (NIK) as the NPWP is expected to further simplify the tax administration process for the public," he said.

On that occasion, Ferry also emphasized that the tax system in Indonesia adheres to the principle of self-assessment, where taxpayers are responsible for calculating, paying, and reporting their taxes independently.

He reminded taxpayers that they do not need to worry as long as their tax reporting is carried out in accordance with applicable regulations. However, if discrepancies are found, they can be detected through supervision mechanisms or tax audits.

"Tax reporting carried out correctly certainly will not be a problem. The existing supervision system is actually intended to ensure that tax compliance runs properly," he said.

The socialization activity was enthusiastically received by PT TIMAH employees who participated in the hybrid event, both in person and online, enabling participation from various work units.

"Proper tax reporting will contribute to state revenue so that the state budget (APBN) remains strong and able to support various development programs," Ferry concluded. (*)
