The Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities has announced the speakers for International Plenary Session II at HACU's 15th International Conference taking place May 4-6, 2026, at the Kimpton Santo San Antonio - Riverwalk, in San Antonio, Texas.
The International Plenary Session II, "Presidential Leadership in a Changing Global Landscape," on Tuesday, May 5, 2026, from 9:00 - 10:30 a.m. CST, examines how presidents and senior leaders are guiding their institutions through geopolitical shifts, enrollment pressures, and evolving workforce demands while sustaining and strengthening international partnerships. Panelists will share how they make strategic decisions at the executive level to balance institutional priorities with global engagement, protect mission-driven initiatives, and respond with agility in uncertain times. The session will highlight the importance of global strategy, cross-border collaboration, and adaptive governance in advancing student success and institutional resilience in today's higher education landscape.
The plenary speakers include Mike Flores, chancellor, Alamo Colleges District; Abel Chávez, president, Our Lady of the Lake University; and Ainhoa Uribe Otalora, vice-rector for Internationalisation, CEU San Pablo University.
HACU's 15th International Conference will feature 25 workshops, plenary sessions and panel sessions. A Student Track, offered in conjunction with the conference, will include panel discussions and informative workshops related to study abroad and other international education programs.
