BOZEMAN - Montana State University's Bobcat ski teams will host a community trail run on Sunday, Sept. 28, as a fundraiser for the programs. The run will feature the Bobcats' home ski trails at Crosscut Mountain Sports Center, where MSU will host the Nordic events for the NCAA Skiing Championships in March 2026.

The Bobcat Trail Challenge will feature a 5-kilometer loop course and will be open to individuals and teams of any number of people. The race will begin at 10 a.m. and prizes will be offered to the fastest individuals and fastest teams, along with awards for best team names, oldest finisher, youngest finisher and more. The race will start and end at Crosscut's Ski Stadium, 275 Wedeln Drive.

"This is our fifth year hosting the Bobcat Trail Challenge at Crosscut, and we've seen the event grow every year," said Adam St. Pierre, head Nordic coach for the Bobcats. "It's more than a fundraiser for the ski program. It's also a great opportunity to connect with runners and hikers from our community while enjoying our home trails. Some participants will race and truly push themselves for the fastest time possible, while others will enjoy a more leisurely effort and connect with friends and fellow runners on the trails. Everyone is welcome."

Registration for the event is $30 per person and includes a custom race hat, access to a fully stocked aid station and the opportunity to run alongside athletes from the Bobcat ski teams. Funds raised will support the men's and women's Nordic and alpine teams throughout their season, which includes travel spanning the U.S. from Alaska to New England.

To end their season, the Bobcats will host the NCAA Skiing Championships March 11-14, 2026. Alpine events will be held at Bridger Bowl Ski Area, while Nordic events will take place at Crosscut Mountain Sports Center.
