Traffic Advisory: Traffic shift planned for Peterson Road at US 24 on Oct. 21

Drivers should plan for traffic changes and possible delays on Peterson Road at the U.S. Highway 24 interchange on Wednesday, Oct. 21, as crews move northbound and southbound traffic onto the newly paved lanes on the east side of Peterson Road.

The traffic shift will take place throughout the day and is expected to be complete by early evening. Peterson Road will remain open in both directions, with uniformed traffic officers helping drivers through the construction area.

Once the shift is complete, the lanes on the west side of Peterson Road will close. Both northbound and southbound traffic will use the lanes on the east side of the road through early 2027.

Drivers should:

  • Allow extra travel time on Oct. 21, especially during the afternoon.
  • Consider alternate routes to avoid possible delays.
  • Follow posted construction signs and directions from traffic officers.
  • Slow down and watch for workers and equipment.

The traffic shift will allow crews to continue building the new roundabout and making improvements for people walking through the area.
