Washington, D.C. - Today, Rep. John B. Larson (CT-01) released the following statement on the passing of former State Representative Stephen Dargan, who served in the Connecticut General Assembly from 1991 to 2017.
"Steve Dargan was an outstanding leader for the people of West Haven and the entire State of Connecticut," said Larson. "I was proud to serve with him in the Connecticut General Assembly as a colleague and a friend. He was a person with a heart of gold, a good sense of humor, and a deep understanding of the what the people he was sworn to serve needed and had the dedication to get it accomplished. As Chairman of the Committee on Public Safety, he rallied our state after the tragic Sandy Hook shooting to enact some of the strongest gun safety laws in the nation - and save lives. Steve will be deeply missed, not only for his expertise as a legislator but for the person he was, and the impact he had on so many of us. I extend my deepest condolences to Representative Dargan's family, friends, and all his loved ones during this difficult time."
