Did you know that more than 1 in 4 (28.7%) adults in the U.S. have some type of disability? Samsung believes in the power of technology to create a more inclusive world. We're not just talking the talk - we're designing with purpose, building accessible innovations that support vision, hearing, mobility, and cognitive needs for a more equitable and inclusive experience. Through this commitment, we aim to empower every user to meaningfully engage in the digital world.
When it comes to design, accessibility is always top of mind, ensuring that everyone, regardless of their varied abilities, can enjoy the benefits of our innovations and live their fullest lives. In recognition of Global Accessibility Awareness Day (GAAD), as part of our "Things to Know" series, we're uncovering the must-know accessibility features across Samsung products. Let's dive into some of the latest ways that we're making technology more accessible.
1. Enjoy Inclusive Screen Time with Relumino Mode
We're making it easier for people with low vision to enjoy TV viewing with clarity and ease. Relumino Mode1, a viewing mode available on select Samsung TVs and Galaxy devices, is designed to support those with low vision by enhancing on-screen visuals. Leveraging AI technology, Relumino Mode can outline on-screen elements, adjust colors, and highlight specific parts of videos, providing you with clearer visuals.
But that's not all! Relumino Together Mode displays standard and Relumino Mode screens side-by-side, so people with low vision can watch TV alongside their family and friends more seamlessly. For multi-lingual households, Live Translate2 offers close captions in up to 12 languages. And new in 2026, our audio phone number feature3 reads on-screen phone numbers aloud, assisting with home shopping.
2. Elevate Your TV Viewing Experience with SeeColors Mode
Our SeeColors Mode4 is designed to help those with color vision deficiency (CVD) experience billions of colors more accurately. Affecting around 300 million people globally, CVD can impact how colors are perceived. This accessibility feature allows users to adjust color settings on Samsung TVs and monitors to better match their individual needs - so more people can enjoy an optimized viewing experience with vibrant, true-to-life color.
3. Optimize Your Galaxy Device with TalkBack Screen Reader
Enhance accessibility on Galaxy smartphones and tablets, such as the Galaxy Tab S11 series, with TalkBack, a screen reader designed to assist people with vision impairments in everyday tasks - from writing emails to sharing on social media and much more. It reads screen content aloud, helps users navigates apps, and supports a range of multi-finger gestures. With TalkBack 9.1 and higher, users can also access dozens of commands, including roughly 15+ voice commands and more than 30 unique gestures for added ease and control.

4. Turn On Audio Subtitles to Listen to On-Screen Text
Many Samsung TVs support Audio Subtitles5, which uses AI and Optical Character Recognition (OCR) technology to provide a voice guide for embedded subtitles in real time. This feature can be especially helpful for people with vision impairments - part of the more than 2.2 billion people worldwide living with some form of visual impairment - as well as anyone watching foreign-language content.
5. Use Live Captions to Follow Along with Audio Content
Live Captions, available on Galaxy smartphones and tablets, helps people with hearing loss follow their favorite media and audio content effortlessly. The feature transcribes audio from videos, podcasts, phone and video calls, audio messages, and voicemails in real time as it plays through the device. Samsung will continue expanding Live Captions in additional languages, bringing these capabilities to even more Galaxy users.
6. Fine-Tune Your Sound with Ambient Sound & Adaptive ANC on Galaxy Buds
With our Ambient Sound feature, Galaxy Buds, including the latest Galaxy Buds4 Pro, give users more control over how they experience sound. Using the Galaxy wearable app, those with hearing loss can fine-tune their Ambient Sound settings to better match their preferences and environment. Users can adjust left and right volume levels independently, as well as customize tone across five levels, from soft to clear. Additionally, Adapt Ambient Sound personalizes audio based on a user's hearing abilities, helping enhance clarity and making it easier to stay aware of the world around them.
Galaxy Buds also feature enhanced Adaptive Active Noise Cancellation (ANC), which uses AI-driven microphones to analyze surroundings in real time and reduce background noise like airplane engines, subway sounds, or crowds. The earbuds can recognize when a user begins speaking, automatically increasing ambient sound to support clearer conversations, then readjusting noise cancellation once the conversation ends. They can also elevate important sounds, such as alarms or emergency alerts, helping users stay aware of their environment.

8. Stay Connected Hands-Free with Head Gestures & Voice Control on Galaxy Buds
Galaxy Buds offer several hands-free ways to stay connected. With Head Gestures enabled, users can answer or decline calls by simply nodding or shaking their head, providing an alternative to touch-based controls.
