How long did you work at FSU?

23 years

What 3 words can you use to describe FSU?

Warm, learning community

List any professional or personal accomplishments we can celebrate with you.

My wonderful husband and I just celebrated 54 years of marriage. I was extremely thankful to receive the Emeritus award from FSU.

What do you do for fun or keeps you busy in retirement?

Singing and participating in church choir specials. I also love working in my flower beds and having my house surrounded by them. My husband and I are always working on projects to our home that my father and grandfathers built 78 years ago. We recently updated our bathroom and kitchen. Designing was great fun.

What was your favorite thing about working at Frostburg State University?

I loved working with the many students, professors and staff at FSU. The community is so warm and loving. Yes, it is hard work, but there are also many great, long-lasting friendships and memories that go with it.

Do you stay connected to other retirees and/or current faculty and staff?

Almost every week, I go to lunch with former coworkers Linda Brumage, Denise Arnold, and Jen Delaney '93/M'98. I value all the special friends I have made over my many years at FSU.

What advice would you give to current students?

Never give up on your dreams. If you need assistance, ask for it. There are many other students, professors and staff that would love to share their expertise.
