Today, Florida Congressman Daniel Webster, R-Clermont, voted to pass H.R. 8469, the Military Construction, Veterans Affairs, and Related Agencies Appropriations Act for Fiscal Year 2027. This bill provides funding for military construction projects, veterans' health care and benefits, servicemember housing, and national defense infrastructure.
"For years, I have called on Congress to return to regular order by advancing individual appropriations bills," said Rep. Webster. "Today, I voted to fulfill this responsibility by supporting our servicemembers, strengthen military readiness, and ensure veterans receive the care and benefits they have earned through their service and sacrifice."
H.R. 8469 funds veterans' medical services, including medical care, community care programs, caregiver support, and toxic exposure research. It also invests in military construction projects for every branch of the armed forces, strengthens military family housing, and improves facilities that support servicemembers and their families.
Highlights of H.R. 8469 include:

Fully funds veterans' health care programs.

Strengthens oversight at the Department of Veterans Affairs through enhanced reporting requirements.

Invests in military readiness and quality of life for servicemembers and military families through funding military construction, barracks improvements, and family housing, child development centers.

Upholds longstanding protections against taxpayer-funded abortion, DEI initiatives, and so-called "gender transition" procedures.

Protects veterans' Second Amendment rights by prohibiting the VA from reporting veterans to the NICS database solely because they require fiduciary assistance.
