Las Vegas Fire & Rescue Fire Celebrates Fire Prevention Week
LVFR Annual Pancake Breakfast and Safety Fair this Weekend
Las Vegas Fire & Rescue is teaming up with the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA)to promote this year's Fire Prevention Week, October 5- 11, Charge Into Fire Safety: Lithium-Ion Batteries in Your Home.
This week, Las Vegas Fire & Rescue will spread the word about making wise choices when it comes to buying, charging, and recycling lithium-ion batteries-because mishandling these batteries, such as overcharging or using damaged ones, can lead to a fire. The department will also round out its week with an art contest for youth and smoke alarm installations.
To kick off Fire Prevention Week, LVFR will be holding its Annual Pancake Breakfast and Safety Fair. The department would like to ensure that everyone in our community has access to this vital information, so we're offering this event at no cost.
Community Members are invited to join us on Saturday, October 4, from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the Cimarron Rose Community Center, 5591 N. Cimarron Road. Attendees can expect to receive Fire Safety Training, a visit from the Bomb Squad Unit, Disaster Preparedness Training, and a complimentary pancake breakfast, while supplies last. This event is free and open to all community members.
