U.S. Chamber Welcomes Joshua Walker as Chief International Affairs Officer

WASHINGTON, D.C. - The U.S. Chamber of Commerce today announced that Dr. Joshua W. Walker will join the organization as Chief International Affairs Officer, effective August 1, 2026. Joshua will assume leadership of the Chamber's expansive international portfolio, which is home to over 30 business councils and over 80 experts in our D.C. headquarters, as well as in Brazil, China, India, and Türkiye, that advocate on behalf of American business and work to advance commercial relations between the U.S. and key global markets. He most recently served as President and CEO of the Japan Society.

Prior to joining the Japan Society, Walker was Global Head of Strategic Initiatives at Eurasia Group, President and CEO of USA Pavilion at the World EXPO 2017 and has lived and worked in Japan, Türkiye, and across Eurasia. He has worked for the U.S. government at the State Department and Pentagon along with appointments at the Commerce Department and EXIM Bank. He is Abshire Chair and Senior Fellow at the Center for the Study of the Presidency and Congress, Member of the Council on Foreign Relations, British American Project Fellow, David Rockefellow Fellow at the Trilateral Commission, and Presidential Leadership Scholar, among many other distinctions and teaching appointments. He earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Richmond, a master's degree from Yale University, and a doctorate from Princeton University.
