Claremont, March 24 - Fourteen students from Blooming Prairie High School's Ag Science class toured Al-Corn Clean Fuel today to learn firsthand about ethanol production.
During the visit, the students explored each stage of the ethanol production process, including grain grading and handling, fermentation, grain and ethanol storage, shipment, and dried distillers grains production. They also gained insight into the important role Minnesota's ethanol industry plays in the state's economy and energy future.
"We appreciate students from Blooming Prairie High School taking time to learn about ethanol production at our producer member, Al-Corn Clean Fuel," said Brian Werner, executive director of the Minnesota Bio-Fuels Association (MN Bio-Fuels). "With nearly 30 years of continuous operation, Al-Corn stands as a testament to innovation and sustainable growth in Minnesota's ethanol industry. During their visit, students gained valuable insight into the vital role Minnesota's ethanol industry plays in lowering fuel costs, reducing emissions, boosting rural economies, and decreasing our dependence on foreign oil."
The tour was organized by MN Bio-Fuels. Abby Bohlen, agriculture science instructor at Blooming Prairie High School, accompanied the students.

Al-Corn Clean Fuel is a farmer-owned cooperative ethanol plant located in Claremont, MN that produces renewable fuel and agriculture co-products. It is recognized as a long-standing leader in the renewable fuels sector and an important local market for corn growers in southern Minnesota.
