Summary:
Ameren crews, support personnel and contractors are nearing completion of electric infrastructure restoration in the aftermath of back-to-back storms (June 10 and June 11) that impacted the northern and mid-section of the Ameren Illinois service territory.
Roughly 99 percent of customers have been restored. The remaining outage count stands at 1,600 customers, most concentrated in the communities of Danville, Champaign and Peoria. A large contingency of resources is working between Chillicothe and Washburn to replace infrastructure that was leveled by a tornado. As of 10:30 a.m., Sunday, crews have set 354 new power poles that were downed because of the back-to-back storms.
More than 2,100 in-house workers, support personnel, and contractor resources (vegetation management and lineworkers) will remain engaged until the remaining customers are restored. See the Ameren outage map for the latest: www.ameren.com/outagemap
