ICE New York City arrests murderers, child sex abusers, other violent criminal illegal aliens

NEW YORK - During targeted enforcement operations to apprehend known criminal illegal aliens and immigration fugitives in the New York City metropolitan area, ICE Fugitive Operations teams arrested criminal illegal aliens convicted of violent and repulsive crimes including murder, rape, sexual abuse of a child under 11, forcible touching of sexual or intimate parts of another person and sexual contact with a person incapable of consent.

"While sanctuary politicians continue to prioritize criminal illegal aliens over law abiding New Yorkers, our officers are on the front lines every day keeping our communities safe from murderers, rapists and pedophiles that prey on our most vulnerable citizens," said ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations Field Office Director Kenneth Genalo. "Protecting New Yorkers from criminal illegal aliens will always be a priority for this office. We will never waver in our commitment to arrest criminal illegal aliens and remove them from our country."

The criminal illegal aliens arrested include:

  • Mosiah Wright, a previously removed criminal illegal alien from Jamaica convicted of murder by the U.S. District Court for the District of Minnesota. Wright has also been arrested for carrying a concealed weapon illegally, drug possession, resisting arrest and probation violations.
  • Jose Fuentes-Saravia, a criminal illegal alien with a final order of removal from El Salvador, convicted of sexual abuse: sexual contact with individual less than 11 years old in Suffolk County, New York.
  • Vicente Mejia-Marquez, a criminal illegal alien from El Salvador convicted of rape: actor 21 or more - vaginal sexual contact with a person under 17 in Suffolk County, New York.
  • Jose Israel Chapa Flores, a criminal illegal alien from Ecuador convicted of forcible touching: touching the sexual or intimate parts of another person and acting in a manner to injure a child under 17 in Suffolk County, New York.
  • Blas Alberto Diaz, a previously removed criminal illegal alien from El Salvador convicted of sexual contact with a person incapable of consent in Nassau County, New York.
  • Benjamin Quijada, a criminal illegal alien from El Salvador convicted of assault in Queens, New York, and wanted for the crimes of sex abuse of a minor and child abuse in Anne Arundel County, Maryland.
  • Franklin Saul Banegas-Cevallos, a previously removed criminal illegal alien from Honduras, convicted of attempted drug possession and with a pending charge for attempted criminal sale of a controlled substance in New York.

These criminal illegal aliens are in ICE custody pending immigration and removal proceedings.
