Hometown Taps are Back for the Summer

The Hillsboro Hometown Tap is a water station providing cool, high-quality drinking water all summer long. Designed and built by Hillsboro Water Department operators, this new and improved drinking fountain is perfect for refilling water bottles and pet bowls.

Three locations offer free tap water on demand all summer long:

  • 2nd Avenue and Main Street in Downtown Hillsboro
  • Shute Park
  • Jerry Willey Plaza at Orenco Station

Next time you go to enjoy local markets and events, make sure to bring a reusable water bottle and take advantage of the clean, cold, and sustainable water station.

A mobile Hometown Tap can be reserved for public events in the Hillsboro Water service area.

The first Hometown Tap was built in 2010. Ever since, Hometown Taps are set up at community events to keep people healthy and hydrated on hot days. The current Hometown Tap features artwork from a local artist showing the connection of the Tualatin River water source to Hillsboro residents.

Submit Your Artwork for Hillsboro's Newest Hometown Tap

Hillsboro Water is inviting local high school students in our service area to design artwork for a new Hometown Tap board.

Hillsboro will soon begin supplementing its water supply from the Tualatin River with an additional source from the Willamette River. The Willamette Water Supply System (WWSS) will help ensure a reliable water supply for our community for generations to come.

To mark this exciting achievement, Hillsboro Water is seeking creative artwork that showcases the Willamette River as Hillsboro's additional water source. The winning design will be featured on a Hometown Tap board.

Who Can Enter

This contest is open to all high school students in Hillsboro's service area. Whether you're an experienced artist or just enjoy creating, we want to see your vision for celebrating our new water source. All artistic styles are welcome.
