A City of Winnipeg transit operator was assaulted with a weapon while operating a bus in the area of Isabel Street and William Avenue.
On August 5, 2026, at 1:18 a.m., North District General Patrol officers responded to a report of a stabbing involving a transit operator and rider. Officers learned that the rider became disruptive after being asked to pay the fare. Before the rider exited the bus, the driver was stabbed in the lower body with an unknown object.
The driver received minor injuries and was transport to hospital in stable condition.
The Major Crimes Unit has assumed responsibility for the investigation.
