LAS 36164 Notice of Water Right Application

NOTICE OF WATER RIGHT APPLICATION
LAS 36164

Pursuant to AS 46.15 and rules and regulations promulgated thereunder, notice is hereby given that an application for a water right was received on July 22, 2026 (Priority Date) from the Selway Corporation, PO Box 1987, Palmer, AK 99645. Water is for the proposed Starlight Subdivision, located west of S Knik Knack Mud Shack Rd, east of S Whitnni St, and north of W Carmel Rd in the Knik-Fairview area of the Matanuska Susitna Borough.

The applicant requests to appropriate water as follows:

Water Source (2 drilled wells): Well #1, 99' in depth
Well #2, 119' in depth
Amount of Water: Combined maximum of 92,500 gallons per day
Season of Use: Year Round
Type of Use: Community Water System

Legal Description of Source of Water: Two drilled wells within Well Site Lot, Block 5, Starlight Subdivision. Said lot is located in SE1/4 SE1/4 Section 31, Township 17 North, Range 2 West, Seward Meridian.

Legal Description of the Area of Appurtenance: Starlight Subdivision, NE1/4 SW1/4 and SE 1/4 Section 31, Township 17 North, Range 2 West, Seward Meridian, located in the Palmer Recording District, Third Judicial District, State of Alaska.

Per AS 46.15.133(a), within 15 days of publication or service of notice, persons may file with the director written objections. Comments or objections must be made in writing by email to [email protected] or by mail to Alaska Department of Natural Resources, Water Resources Section, 550 W 7th Ave, Suite 1020, Anchorage, Alaska 99501-3562 by August 28, 2026. Pursuant to 11 AAC 93.080(6), "The public comment period set by AS 46.15.133 (c) begins the first day the newspaper publication appears, or the first day of posting, or upon receipt of the notice as evidenced by the certified mail receipt, date stamp, or other evidence of actual service."

Objection must include the objector's name and address, and any facts tending to show that the rights of the objector or the public interest would be adversely affected by the proposed appropriation. For more information, please contact Lesli Schick at [email protected]
